Vengeance Incorporated :: history 4.5 : writing and recording

See the demos page for more tracks with Nick & Mark.

After the release of Predator Curt left the band and moved to Alabama. Chuck suggested Mark (currently playing with Guy in docweaselband as lead guitarist) did a short stint with the band and helped write some of the songs and did pre-production for Malicious Intent, the follow-up album. Creative differences led to a parting of the ways, and Vengeance started auditioning guitarists.

Nick Simmons, a guitar teacher and virtuoso guitarist joined for a few months, but his style, while technically proficient, wasn’t compatible with metal. He was especially deficient in playing rhythm, so Mike, who was working with the band on outside projects, was recruited to join.

In less than a year, Curt was back and the classic Vengeance line-up (soon to be Vengeance Incorporated after a clash with Dutch poseurs calling themselves Vengeance) was set.
